Growing Stuff!

The Farntastics have planted a garden this year! We're very excited and have been mentally planning this for quite some time!

***First, I'm well aware it's been awhile since my last space blurb. Sorry folks, but quite honestly there's been some pretty crappy tragedy around and I just felt so silly writing what "we" were up to in the midst of all of it.... there are times in life that put just how little we all are in perspective. But alas, life has to move on and I guess I'm ready to write again. So here I am :) ***

We had one gardening attempt in Hawaii, that didn't work out so well.... nasty red mud for dirt in the backyard didn't help either. But we didn't let that get us down, I'm big on self sustaining as much as possible, I HATE going to the grocery store and giving other people money for something I could do myself. We're stocked in the backyard with lemons, peaches, plums, and apples already so vegetables was the natural next move.


Here we all are planting away- We dug up the gigantic rosemary bush that was out back and Kevin built this new planter. He's so handy! Noah and Kev getting the fried green tomatoes in the ground. We are putting in the roma tomatoes and Noah is laying the seeds for our green beans! Yummy!!! Can not wait to watch our food grow!

All done for now! We've got green beans, 4 types of tomatoes, red peppers, green peppers, and 3 types of squash!

As you can see, the kids were just pooped after all that work!

We got them a little water to beat the heat wave we had this past week and we are sure to see soon during our first full summer here in California!
