Oh, the places we are....

It's turned cold here. It seems this year fall has almost skipped us and we're moving along into winter... the Farntastics have had a busy few months with me back in school, Noah playing soccer, Kevin's always busy work schedule and Letty's social activities! We've been having a lot of fun. Highlights??? Grandma came to visit for 12 days! She just left Saturday and it's awfully quiet in the house... we won't be sad though because we had an unforgettable time and we'll see her and Grandaddy, Aunt Bek and Uncle Gregg in less than 2 months for Christmas!! Noah's team ended their soccer season with only 1 loss! He had a great team and he can't wait to play with them again next year. Scarlett's highlights are everyday I think, she's growing up so fast and she's just so silly and happy!

With the turning of the weather comes my favorite time of year. Yes, I'm a beach gal. Yes, I love the summer. But I can't help but be reminded of how much I really love this nippy air and these cozy days as we are into our 2nd year back on the mainland. I'd been gone so long, I'd almost forgetten what this time of year is really like. Hawaii is starting to seem like a distant memory... but a fond one we think of a lot. I haven't lost hope that one day we'll go back, but for now we are moving forward happily here. Most years I am looking forward to planning a big dinner or get together of some sort, but not this year. Hold your breathe........ I have NO plans for the holidays! Or I should say, nothing extra to plan. This year we're headed down to SoCal for the big Turkey Day and we're headed to TN/KY for Christmas. I really could  not be more excited about it! I think I'm really going to enjoy these next two months. As many of you know, I have a tendency to overload my plate.... a lot. Most people wait until Jan 1st to make their goals for the next year... I'm starting now. There I go overachieving again! What's on the menu? Continuing to slow down, that's what. I've written about it a lot here, it's what I want for most with the kids at this age. There is something about having an 8 1/2 year old and not knowing where it all went that has sort of leveled me. Letty is only 2 and she's it... sorry folks, no more babies in this house... and I don't want to miss a thing. I think people always talk about those times in your life when you progress from one stage to another and this year has definitely been mine. It's quietly exciting!
So, that's my small time update, maybe I'll get back to posting all the fun things we do soon ;)
