My trip home blog is a bit overdue but let's face it folks, I'm exhausted, again. I barely even know what day it is right now. As soon as I got back from my wonderful trip, Kevin left for the week. The kids & I have been having a fun week, but there's been little time to think about this little computer here! Sometimes I like it that way though.
So, my trip home was almost the best one I've ever had. Second only to Bek's wacky wedding week! I think it's funny; I take the least pictures on the best trips. It's a good thing the best camera is in my mind.
This was very exciting, as it was Mom & Letty's first girls trip! Once again Letty was an amazing flyer. After missing our flight last Wednesday morning due to some ridiculous accidents I definitely needed a break and she gave it to me. I really do thank God for two easy-ish babies. We got to Kentucky late that night and crashed out immediately at "the farm"(That's what we're calling the cute little place Mom & Dad are staying at while they are transitioning into their new home, lol!). The next day we woke up and headed out to see my Pappa. My Pappa is 91 years old and I'm not sure what to say except that he is an incredibly special man to me. Unfortunately he had a terrible nose bleed earlier that week and was in the hospital to get a blood transfusion. He lost that much blood. :( I was very excited for him to meet Scarlett and when I brought her in I could tell that he was too. We had a nice visit and I think she really lifted his spirits!
Oh! I almost passed it! As I mentioned, my parents bought a new house! I'm REALLY excited about this house. Since I've been gone Mom & Dad.... we'll call them A&J for the remainder of this blog.... (Like that Dad??) have moved a couple of times. The houses were great, BUT this one is just different. There's plenty of room for everyone and any future new children that come into the mix *cough!**Bekah!* The kitchen reminds me of my grandmother's, they have a lot of property, I can just see the whole family there & happy for many years to come. Congrats A&J.... you truly deserve this & I'm very happy for you!
Hmmm, what next?? Yes, we headed to Bek & Gregg's!!! Since our trip was venturing south throughout the weekend A&J decided to pack their bags and stay there for the weekend too. That was fun. We just hung out with each other and Scarlett, did some shopping, looked at pictures and I learned that, apparently, I should spend more time playing Mahjong! I also thought it might be fun to tag along to her Organic Chem class on Friday evening... boy was I wrong! At least afterwards we got to enjoy the best cupcakes around from Naticakes - The Best Dang Cupcake Shop Ever!
Us girls just being silly!!
Saturday morning I headed south for home home with my bestie Brooke! We haven't got to spend this much quality time together in forever!! I really hope that now, even though I'm still hours of flight away, we'll get to see each other more. We spent the day between her house, enjoying some pampering and then her parents house. Yea, that was a real flashback!!
Then it was off to the actual reunion. I really don't have toooo much to say about it. It was definitely more fun than we thought it would be. I loved seeing old friends and making memories as grown ups. I especially loved getting to spend that much QT with my best friend, Jennifer. Jennifer and I have been BFFs since we were 2 and I just can't imagine my life without her! We stayed longer than we anticipated and still made it into bed before 1AM. I'd say that was a successful evening!
I ended my trip with a family appearance at our old church. This is the church Dad preached in for 16 years if I remember correctly. It's the only church I remember and I consider, no kidding, the majority of it's members to be my family. It was so nice to see everyone again.
We drove by the house I will always call home... We moved from that house when I was probably 11 or 12, but when I remember my childhood, I think of this house and all of the smiling memories it holds.
I planted the tree on the left when I was a kid and got stuck climbing in the one in the backyard more times than I can count.... crazy.
Then it was off to BNA, our meeting & leaving place til next time! I'll leave you with a cute shot of A&J and my distracted little sweetheart! :)
