We have been anxiously anticipating receiving the wonderful gift of "The Swingset" from Kevin's Uncle Mike for some time now. This is a very special swingset. Mike designed & built it for his kids years ago & now they have finally outgrown it. Sharon & Brian arrived on Thursday night and we rested up on Friday because the guys NEW that moving the swingset would be no easy task.
Saturday morning we woke up bright & early to get started. The house was buzzing with excitement! Kev & Brian headed out to Mike's house and we tried to keep ourselves busy making root beer & shopping for the cookout. It took about 5 hours to get the swingset down & Uhauled to our house but finally they arrived! Noah was floored when he saw how GIGANTIC it really was! After some planning in the front yard they brought the first piece through the fence!
And then headed back out to do some more pondering of how the heck this thing was going to get through the fence!
While all this pondering was going on outside Sharon, Myself, Noah & Letty tried to make ourselves useful in any way possible but generally just tried to stay out of the way :) Sharon made herself useful by being an awesome Grammie, taking pictures & taking the guys beers to keep them cool!
I made myself useful by making the guys butternut squash pizza for snack, taking pictures & then making all sorts of goodies for the BBQ! Basically, I cooked all day but that's not exactly a chore for me :)
About the time the Farnady men were considering calling it a day (They certainly had worked their tails off!) our neighbors came over. Mia & Scarlett played and Jason seemed to bring a new energy to the guys.
Noah's reaction to the massive size of the "Farnady Fortress" once the first part was up!
This is one of my favorite pictures of the day, Sharon went to go help hold this heavy beam & she took her drink, lol! I know it was a really hard work day, but we all sure had a great time!
The last piece went up and Noah hopped on to try it out! He honestly could not have been happier. He smiled from ear to ear all day long and was genuinely as thankful as I've ever seen him.
Afterwards, we feasted on Kevin's very famous ribs with home made BBQ sauce, roasted chili-lime corn, & grape/broccoli salad. It was so exciting to have that much family at our home at once! I am very blessed to have married into such a fun loving famliy!
The next morning Sharon & Brian headed home early to be the crazy beginning of fall heat we have been having. Kevin & Noah headed outside and added the slide and other loose ends. All 4 of us spent the day playing in our new more awesome back yard. Noah kept going on and on about how awesome his Dad is how lucky he was.
Definitely #1 Dad!
