Peanut Brittle

I did it! I made my first CANDY!!! It was sooooo fun! Over the weekend, while I was putting the finishing touches on our Farntastic Christmas Party Menu, Kev mentioned something about how he always likes peanut brittle and me being the "home make it" that I am flipped open "Old Betty" (my oldest cookbook) and saw how easy it would be to make him some. So I did.... and I have to be honest again, I screwed the first batch up ROYALY! Let me give you a little tip..... just buy the candy thermometer.  I did it the first time without and it never set and was all gooey and uck. Determined to succeed, I made a quick trip to Bed, Bath & Beyond and got a shiny new candy thermometer and started again! And it is amazing!!!

Click HERE for the recipe online. I enjoyed reading the reviews on it and hearing that someone had an early early edition of the cookbook and the recipe has not changed. I'll have to leave my own review, it couldn't have turned out any better! I would definitely have to recommend trying this to any one of you, it was very simple after I had the thermometer.
