Father's Day Weekend

Well, it's Tuesday of our last full week here! We spent the better part of last week passing around some sort of awful fluness and then getting over it. No worries though, we're all better now!

Friday we went down to the duck pond to take some pics for Scarlett's one year announcements! I know it's a Father's Day blog, but I have to sneak in a good one of me & the kiddos ;)

Then Saturday we went over to Kevin's Aunt Ronda's for Amelia's birthday party. We swam, slid, ate, did presents, Brett & Derrick gave us an impromptu concert, lol! It was a nice afternoon and I just love that the kids have so much fun together! But how can you not with such a fun bunch of silly kids?! Not to mention the perfect little oasis they have going on in their backyard. We had a total blast and can't wait to go back this weekend!
The birthday girl & Noah!

Onto the Father's Day festivities! This year was a very special Father's Day. Not only is Kevin now the Daddy of 2, but he was able to spend it here in Cali with his Dad which hasn't happened in years! This year Noah decided that he wanted to have a camp out in the backyard for him, Kev & Pops. So Saturday when we got home from the party they started setting up the surprise.

Noah had to lead Kevin with his eyes closed through all the cacti.... I'm pretty sure he peeked a little!

T-R-O-U-B-L-E!!!

Then the Dad's started grilling! I love how on Mother's Day most Moms don't want to cook and all that but on Father's day Dads LOVE to grill!

Funny story time: Since Noah was doing the whole camp out deal for Kevin I thought it would be cute to do one of those hand print keepsakes for Kevin from Scarlett..... hahaha! Yea, the suggestion to do that while the child is sleeping shouldn't JUST be a suggestion. It should be the rule! Sharon & I even had blueberries and songs to distract her.... no good! Scarlett got her hands in the gel and OF COURSE just wanted to slide them all around. Then when I decided to try to HOLD her hands down for her she totally freaked out! Poor girl! I scratched the idea and decided to just tell Kevin we tried....  Hey, my efforts were appreciated and that's what matters right?

After we ate it was time to start the fire. I am so so so lucky to have in-laws with such a great back yard. And to just have such great in-laws :) Really! We have so much fun out there!
The fire master & the Jr. fire master!

FIRE, ahhhhh! :)

Sunday when everyone woke up the guys opened their cards and I got Kevin 3 roses. One from Me, One from Noah and One from Scarlett :) Unfortunately Sunday is when poor Noah started getting his part of the flu bug, so after we went to breakfast we came home took naps and watched movies all afternoon. Then I tucked the kiddos in and the grown ups ate nice juicy steaks! Seriously, I wish I had taken a picture of Kevin's.... it was ridiculously huge. It was Father's Day after all!

What would a Father's Day blog be without a picture of the very best one out there! My parents sent me a few old school pics for one of the baby shower games and this was in there! Thank you so much! I LOVE YOU DADDY!!!

All in all another pretty awesome weekend. Only one left before we head up north. We're heading down to San Diego tomorrow to take Noah on a surprise trip to Sea World! I'm pretty excited myself. I think I went to Sea World in TX when I was a kid, but I've never been to San Diego and I hear it's beautiful!
