Family Tree

Over this past week we helped Noah with his first project for 2nd grade, a family tree. He had the choice to do a timeline, make any version of a family tree, or conduct an interview with an ancestor. Okay, first of all this whole project really put me in my place. Kevin had to remind me that his grandparents were ancestors and technically he could interview them. But I refused the idea. When I hear "ancestor" I'm thinking old person and I don't consider my parents OR Kev's parents old... because if they are old and they are the line above us.... then we are next in line to be old and that doesn't set well with me.
Back to the point, Noah had this grand idea to make an actual tree! I thought it was a fantastic idea so I headed to Michaels and found some great foam sheets we could cut out. That was my big part of the project, you see, Kevin usually handles this kind of stuff. You might be confused since I'm Suzy Homemaker right? But, he is just better at artistically visualizing things so I just sit back and cross my fingers that Noah will learn from him! We spent all week gathering information and then Thursday night Kevin and Noah put it together. Noah worked very very hard on this and we are so proud of him :)

He's still in that weird smiling stage. Ya know, the one where it looks like it hurts to smile?!
