My 28th Birthday Week

     This week I turned 28! We really didn't plan a lot since I'm leaving for the Big Island on Saturday & that's technically my birthday present. BUT, it turned out to be a great week anyhow. Monday was the family's last day of winter break together. Tuesday, I was going to go to the beach with Letty but it rained, it actually ended up for the best because I can't begin to tell you how nice it was to be in a quiet house again. Don't get me wrong, I loved the boys being home, but it was nice to have the house back to myself for a little bit. Wednesday I got my hair done! Yes! A BIG THANK YOU to Mom, Dad, Bek, Gregg, Sharon, Brian, Teresa & Cameron cause they sent me some $$$ to pamper myself, & I did :) That night I challenged Kev to some Mario Party 8 and beat him, actually I kicked his butt but I won't gloat! So Thursday was my bday & I started out the day chatting with Mom & Dad on Skype, I can't think of a better way! After that, It was kinda lonely cause everyone was gone but Letty and I had a girls day. I even painted our toenails!

Suzanne & Rod came over and brought me gifts and a cake. Thank you! Then the best part, Kev got off work early! We layed around, watched G.I Joe then got Noah and headed out to dinner. I originally wanted Italian food, but by then I just really wanted something comfortable & no fuss. So of course we headed to Chilis where Noah gave me the BIGGEST CARD EVER!

Then I opened Kevin's card & it made me cry my eyes out so Noah gave me a hug & a kiss to make me feel better.

After that, we decided to take Suzanne up on her offer to give us some adult time. We headed down to the Hideaway on the CG base for a beer and a birthday shot that tasted just like an oatmeal cookie, very yummy! The best part, we didn't have to pay for any of it :) Then like good little adults, we went home and to bed. What a great birthday it was! Friday & Saturday were really chill, Kevin had the big, bad duty on Saturday so I had a very nice quiet day at home playing with Scarlett & Noah when I could steal him away from his new BFF down the street.

Sunday, today! What a fun day. I planned a beach BBQ with my friend Brenda to catch up with one of my favorite families, the Woods! Noah's new friend & his family came and Suzanne & the bunch came too. It was cloudy, it sprinkled, then it rained, ha! But we had a blast!! We paddleboarded, surfed & ate! It was really fun and by the end of the day the sun came out. I'm super stoked because I think I found something new for Bren and I to do together. Since she had her surgery, I've lost my running partner :( but I think it's gonna be equally awesome surfing together!

All in all it was a fantastic birthday week, thank you all for the great cards, calls, gifts, and time spent together! Two more til the big 3-0!!!!!!!!
