10 Years

     With the coming of the New Year and a new decade it's only natural to think about the past 10 years. I'm gonna keep this short but those of you who know me well know the magnitude of change that has happened for me in 10 years. 10 years ago on this very evening I was sitting in a very long driveway in a little place called Maryville, Tennessee, looking up at the stars... in rehab as property of the state; getting ready to make some of the dumbest decisions of my life which would somehow, by the grace of God, lead me to tonight. I remember very vividly exactly what that night was like & wondering what my life would be like(also hoping y2k didn't destroy the world or a large meteor didn't kill us all, lol)... I couldn't have imagined it any better that it has turned out. In 10 years I graduated high school, made stupid decision after stupid decision, got married, battled a couple of addictions, joined the Air Force, became a meteorologist, moved through 4 states, had a baby, got a divorce (probably the best decision of the 10 years...), became best friends with my mother and sister, made my Dad proud of me again, fell in love with running, introduced myself to myself, made MANY amazing other friendships, came to Hawaii, met the love of my life, got married, went to Jamaica!, went skydiving, got out of the Air Force, sent my oldest to his first day of school, and had another baby... and so much more but those are the highlights. I thank my family and friends from the bottom of my heart for all you've been through with me and supported me through. Mom, Dad, & Bek, I would be nothing without you. So here's to the next 10 years and all the amazing and awful things it has in store for us! :)
