Tennessee Cove

Yesterday we set out for our first "Mom said we're going there" outing! I picked up a bunch of Bay Area family magazines while at the Stride Rite store last week and found SO MANY things to do! It was really hard to pick just one thing but I finally settled on going to Tennessee Cove. I mean, how could I not? I am still a bit of a Tennessee girl. Anywho, it was perfect; It's a beach AND a hike! The two things the Farntastic Four love the most! It's located in Tennessee Valley inside the Golden Gate National Rec Area just north of the city, we found it with no problems and as soon as we pulled in guess what was going on?? An ULTRA marathon!!! *swoon* How exciting! That just really gets my blood pumping! More on that later.... The Valley and Cove are named after the S.S. Tennessee that crashed on the shore of the cove in the 1800's. You can read more about the history and such here. I thought it was pretty cool stuff. I am falling deeply in love with Northern California... don't get me wrong, I still LOVE SoCal and definitely want to move there next, but it's beautiful here and the idea of really increasing my game with trail running just gets me sooooo excited!!!   Here are some pictures of our adventure!

We had to beat the tide to find this tucked away cove, it was really fun and had us all cracking up!

We decided to take the Golden Gate and Lombard Street back home! I love playing tourist!!
LOVE this house!!
