What a crappy day

Let's face it, Tsunami Saturday was a BUST! It went a little something like this...
Okay, so we NEVER stay up late anymore. But last night Kev and I decided to stay up til about 1230 catching up on the shows we've been sleeping through. So at ~5 this morning Kev gets a call from a co-worker. I'm like turn the lights off, ugh... I'm tired. He gives me the *hold on a minute* finger. I'm even more uuughh! *covers over face* Then he hits me with "There's a serious tsunami warning" and turns on the news. At this point and time I was very annoyed that mother nature was screwing around with my sleep. I called my parents and sister to tell them we're packing up and headed up to Makakilo and we'll be fine. I started packing all the essentials up and watching the news more closely.
*Funny Story* Noah wakes up and I begin to tell him what's going on. I say "There was an earthquake in Chile..."-CUT- "That place we go eat?!?!!" "No, Noah. Silly, the COUNTRY!"*
Quite honestly with all the destruction that has been going on in the world I got a little freaked out. I managed to stay calm though.  We finally got it all together, loaded the 4 of us + Guinness in the cars and headed up the hill. Now I have quite the list of disagreements with the way this state does a lot of things, but I have to say that they have a dang good evac plan. My favorite part was how everyone was still rolling their trashcans out to the road! TSUNAMI WARNING: DON'T FORGET TO TAKE YOUR TRASH OUT! No seriously, there was hardly any traffic congestion (on the west side) and people were really very orderly. Anyway, we get to the top of the hill,  find a parking spot in a cul de sac with a rockin view, get the EZ UP up and start waiting...and waiting...and waiting. Okay, now not that I wanted any death and destruction but sue me for saying that I was a little bored up there waiting for nothing. Anyway we made the best of it. Here are some pics from our day-
This is where we set up camp; see Kev down there by the EZ-UP and the car?! Waikiki & Diamondhead are just to the right in the top of the picture.
Oh, so this lady comes out of the bottom house on the left (this is a relatively new & nice development) and she goes around to everyone; most of us with clean, quiet-ish children and even one newborn, and she starts asking where everyone is from and yapping off about how they have a homeowner's association and we all need to clean up after ourselves! *Scream* I wanted to punch her, I was a little short on patience by this time, but still. She didn't even offer a bathroom for the children or ask if everyone was okay. Nothing nice, just yap,yap,yap... Sorry, vent over!
We ended up laughing & having a good time for awhile
Letty loved hanging out with Guinness
And her apple :)
We finally came home around 2 o'clock. On the way home Noah says to me "Mom, I just prayed to thank God for keeping everyone safe."
Once we were home I fed Scarlett and we both passed out on the couch for about an hour and a half. Easily, the best part of my day!
Sad news. Grandma Farnady had a stroke on Tuesday. Soon after we woke up from our nap, Kev got a call from his Mom. Grandma Farnady passed today. Kevin spent some time dealing with this last night, but it's just been really hard for him. He's doing okay though. Right as Sharon called I looked outside and saw a cardinal outside on the fence. Grandma loved birds, we like to think she sent it to tell us she's better and happy with Grandpa now. :) This is my favorite picture from when they came for Thanksgiving. We had so much fun and I am truly blessed to have been given that time to get to know her.
Needless to say, neither one of us really felt like cooking at this point in the day so we loaded back up and went to Outback. Yum!!.... right?! Ha! We get there thinking "Ah, time to relax and start recouping from the day" Because even with a nap, this day had been reeeeeeally long. Yea, until Letty somehow chokes on strained bananas and throws up EVERYWHERE! Poor girl was screaming because it scared her to death and probably didn't feel to fantastic either. I take her to the bathroom, baby nanas all over both of us (Although, Kev did manage to catch most of it, GO SWEETIE!) Finally get her calmed down, changed and back to the table. *Breathe, recoup. Again* We get our food. Kev has this swallowing problem where stuff gets stuck in his esophagus and he "chokes".... GOOD GRIEF!! We box it all up and get the heck out of there.
Yea, so I'm pretty much gonna call it a night now! Glad we're safe and truly thankful for all your thoughts and prayers!
