A Good Friend

Sometimes a good friend is all you need around to find something you didn't even know you were looking for. This weekend one of my very best friends, Stacie, came to visit. Stacie & I met in Hawaii since our hubbies are both crazy Coasties :) We are very alike in many ways - one being that when we meet someone we basically know within minutes whether or not we want to know them any longer - and we got along brilliantly, immediately! We have pretty much been best friends ever since. Kevin joked that I had finally found someone who talked as much and as fast as I do and I'm sure Jason said the same to her! I always know that no matter how I'm feeling or what I'm thinking, she's either already thought it or been through it or might even be going through the exact same thing right then. It's magical the way friendships work out like that. I also know that when I'm due to paleeeeeeease just have a little fun, she probably is too!
So this weekend, that's exactly what we did. We had a lot of fun and some much needed quality time together! We fondued Friday and finally watched Grown Ups, which is hysterical by the way! Saturday we headed into the city with basically no direction and ended up have quite the adventure! Never even making it to the one destination I said we should try to hit up, lol! Sunday - we recouped, while recouping I had quite the epiphany.... I just can't do it anymore, I don't want to, lol! I'm old and tired! I think my days of staying out late have officially come to an end. I mean, I'm not gonna say I will never have a fun night again, but Sunday I couldn't shake the overwhelming feeling that I was happy, fulfilled and done. I have had SO MUCH fun in my 29 years and I am satisfied with just that. Stace & I went to see The Dilemma Sunday afternoon and just hung out the rest of the day. I have a handful of amazing friends and I don't think there is a better one to be with me for this. :) It was a really fun and special weekend! I don't know exactly how to explain it but I feel like the old Sarah, the one that was just here on Saturday has said welcome to the new one, made peace with her time here and left... weird explanation I'm sure, but true. Enough with the deep stuff, here's some pictures of our fun and always too short reunion - until next time!
Our favorite fun meal!

Stace & Sarah and the City

We made our first stop at Johnny Foley's where we grabbed a bite to eat and one of their self-proclaimed "Best Bloody Mary's in town" - being a huge Bloody Mary fan I have to say it was one of the most delicious ones I've ever had. I'd love to make it back here sometime to check out their Dueling Pianos!

Cupcake Shop!

This place lured us in by description alone -The Northstar Cafe has quite the background story having been a speakeasy during the prohibition. And I can assure you that we met the residents, tourists, AND riff-raf, lol!

Resident? Tourist? or Riff-Raff??? :)

Everytime I go into the city I have a brand new adventure and a once in a lifetime experience. I absolutely love this city.

Ya know, I believe that everything happens for a reason and I believe this trip was no different. So that was my weekend. Completely fun, satisfying and life-changing! And of course, we're already plotting how we can see each other again!
